FinanceForward, LLC is the culmination of months of hard work resulting in the merger of two firms: Young & Company Wealth Management Strategies and Joseph Klein Associates. Tom Brown, Cinnie Goldberg and Kalen Baxter bring almost 80 combined years of experience advising their clients in the areas of financial, estate, insurance and investment planning. We have all known each other for many years and share a common bond: the understanding that the continuity and succession of our business enterprises are as important as the care extended to our clients.

There will be no disruption in the service you receive nor will any action be required of you. There will be no changes to your accounts except that you will see a new logo on statements and correspondence.
Our phone number and address will remain the same; however, we do have new e-mail addresses that we will now be using. No need to worry if you forget the new e-mail address, our old ones will be forwarded to us. Look for our combined presence in our current Annapolis and Towson offices.

Neil R. G. Young, CLU, ChFC, Managing Partner, Insurance Advisor
Neil R. G. Young founded Young & Company in 1989, specializing in group insurance benefits and business solutions. A Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant, Neil is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and a former member of the Board of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. His civic duties have been exemplary as an: International Rotary member – past President and District Assistant Governor; Center for Citizen Initiatives Board member (training 6,000 Russian entrepreneurs in 68 occupational fields); Children’s Guild Board of Trustees member; Pediatric Nursing Certification Board member; Library of congress Open World volunteer; and volunteer for global service projects on-site. He is a graduate of the Franklin & Marshall College, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Elaine Shanley, CFP®, AIF®, CDFA® Partner, Financial Planner
Elaine Shanley joined Young & Company in 1998 and became Partner in 2003. She is proficient in all areas of wealth management and is licensed for life, health, disability, and long term care insurance. As a Certified Financial Planner® Practitioner, she holds ethics and professionalism in high regard. She has also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation for retirement plans as well as the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) designation, and is recognized as a Woman’s Choice Award recipient for 2014* Financial Advisor. Elaine earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the College of Notre Dame, and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Baltimore. Elaine is extremely community oriented, and involved as: an International Rotary member and past president; sits on the Board of Leadership of Anne Arundel; Board member of the Arts Council; and advocates for women’s financial empowerment after divorce through Second Saturday workshops and events.

Thomas M. Brown, CLU
Thomas Brown joined Joseph Klein Associates in 1983. He oversees: estate, financial and charitable planning, insurance and medical underwriting. Tom is widely respected for his knowledge and caring for clients. Involved in a number of non-profit organizations, Tom sits on Planned Giving committees for a number of organization; holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Intellectual History from the University of Michigan; a Master’s Degree in the History of Science from The Johns Hopkins University; and is a Chartered Life Underwriter. He holds the Series 6 and 63 through LPL Financial and Series 65 through Joseph Klein Associates, LLC, as well as, Life and Health licenses.
Cynthia Klein Goldberg, CLU
Cynthia Goldberg joined Joseph Klein Associates in 1987 and specializes in investment management, wealth accumulation, retirement and college funding. Cynthia (Cinnie) is a trusted, caring advisor. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s Degree in Education from The Johns Hopkins University, and is a Chartered Life Underwriter. Cinnie holds the Series 7 through LPL Financial and 66 through both LPL Financial and Joseph Klein Associates LLC; as well as, Life and Health Licenses.
Kalen D. Baxter, CFP®
Kalen Baxter entered the financial services industry in 1997 and joined Joseph Klein Associates in 2002. Kalen specializes in financial and investment planning and helps clients organize their financial affairs and implement strategies to meet their financial goals. He has held leadership positions with several local branches of national organizations. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola College in Maryland, and is a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional. Kalen holds the Series 6, 7 and 63 registrations through LPL Financial, as well as Life and Health licenses. He is registered as an Investment Advisor Representative with Private Advisor Group.

Michele M. Beernink
Michele Beernink is our Client Relations Manager. Michele joined Young & Company in 2008. She earned a B.B.A. in business economics and an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University in Maryland. She is Series 6 and 7 registered with LPL Financial and has also earned the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. Previously, Michele worked as an investment consultant for Mercer.
Barbara H. Glaze
Barbara Glaze is our Administrative Assistant. Barbara joined Joseph Klein Associates in 1990. She oversees all insurance processing and multiple aspects of client service and support, taking care of all the details behind the scenes—so when you need details and support with anything, she is your go-to-associate.
